Velvet Moon Gypsies

The Velvet Moon Gypsies are the premier performance troupe for the Gypsy Moon Dance Company. In addition to performing with The Gypsy Moon Dance Company during their bi-annual dance shows, the Velvet Moon Gypsies appear at local cultural festivals, fairs, and Haflas around Central Massachusetts. Inspired by the dances of the Middle East, Spain, North Africa, Central Asia, Turkey, and India; their performances are up-beat, colorful, and family-friendly.

Just as the dances are a multi-cultural fusion of Flamenco, Folkloric, Gypsy, and Tribal; the members are a blend of diverse ages, interests, and styles. Recruited from within the Gypsy Moon Dance Company, each member brings to the troupe his or her own individual personality and influence, a genuine love of expression through movement, and a wonder and respect for the artistic voice of all cultures.
